What to Expect
For Genomic Panels initially, you will have a cheek swab done in office and can fill out preliminary history and contact info online or in person. You pay the lab directly, there is no 'mark-up' fee through our office.
Genetic panels require 4-8 weeks and vary in return time. It seems longer to wait than the rapid blood tests we all have, but unlike blood work which changes day to day, genetic panels are permanent and concrete, results do not change and are only amplified as research develops in real time. Regardless of any age, the results are yours and remain unchanged.
When results are in we will schedule an afternoon consultation, appointments are offered from 1-5 pm Mon-Thurs, for approximately one hour. You will receive approximately 25 pages of print out info detailing identified SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms or variants) which will be covered and explained in a summary page of findings, and a summary of recommendations for specific supplements will be given. This can be compared against any current supplementing a patient already is using to correct forms, dosage, overlap, or brands.
For patients having Endocrine Salivary Testing, you will be given a test kit with detailed collection instruction, pay the lab directly, and in several weeks when results are returned we can schedule an afternoon consult to cover results and recommendations. Salivary testing can require follow up or repeat testing for changes, unlike Genomic panels.
It is imperative that patients know for Genomic testing ALL samples are destroyed by the lab, not retained, and once results are released, data is NOT retained. We are committed to not having any form of your genetic info available for research, even when anonymous. We will not partner with any lab that retains samples or data for any purpose.
What we are not: this is not a weight loss program, we do not sell any supplements or brands, unless not directly available to the patient. We do not profit from testing or lab service, we do not offer any recommendations on medications, but will offer education and information most patients lack on meds they are taking. We are not treating symptoms or disease, we are not matching supplements to pathology. We strive to offer true preventative and long term information for health for patients.
